We are a country and above all our country and its well being is what matters most. So instead of sitting around and putting down people on an internet blog (how gay is that), shut up and make this country better by what you do...cuz what you say doesn't mean anything.

Looks like Ike blew the lid off of the septic tank and Big Tex crawled out. Who needs your
hateful, biggoted, mindless view of the world? I'm sure most Texans, including the fine people
who serve our nation in the military, cringe when ignorant Texans spew such venom as
representative of the good people of your state. Find another way of dealing with your apparantly unsucceful life. The only thing Big about Big Tex is his mouth, certainly not his brain. For
people around the world view this, we do have to endure too many usually economically and
educationally deprived citizens who strike out like Big Tex instead of making something of
themselves and their lives. Crawl back into your hole Big Tex and stew there in your bile.

Just because us Texans believe in an honest days work and dont believe that we should use Uncle Sam to provide for us like some of the lazy bums in New Orleans, dont mean you can stereotype us as "rednecks" We are a proud group of people who still have values and beliefs you cant begin to imagine. You can take your gay rights and stick em where you enjoy sticking stuff. If it wasnt for us Texans, which make up almost 1 in 4 military members, your ass would probably not exist. Some other country would have invaded your "imaginary liberal" America and you would be some guys bitch, which you would probably enjoy anyway. So just remember, without us "redneck Texans" your ass would not have the freedoms and rights you have today.

Wow! This storm looks like a real bear! I live in Dallas, I hope the folks down south took the advice to GET OUT! From what I saw of traffic coming in from I-45 today, it looks like many did, thank goodness!

Why do I see mean messages here between Canadians and Texans? I am a native Texan, native Dallasite. I didn't know we had any problem with Canada! I thought they were our friends.

I am no weather nerd, but for some reason I began watching Ike ever since it was African wind. This is the only website that I feel keeps you up to date and in detail on tropical weather. Thank you whoever keeps this going!

You can check the link on the images page for "Hurrican Ike Project Path" and see it will miss New Orleans. So I doubt there will be much said about New Orleans unless Ike's path turns northward once it's fully back into the Gulf of Mexico.

I've been checking the radar/satellite images every day since Ike was just barely off the southeastern tip of Cuba. It's just unreal that the central area of that storm has stayed over the island for its full length. I feel really bad for those folks. What a nightmare! Thank God it didn't stay a category 4 or even a 2 or 3. sheesh....

Maybe it will blow away cuba. What a novel idea. So the people live in thatched huts. I guess mother nature can do alot more damage than the U.S. could ever do.

God has nothing to do with hurricanes. It's Mother Nature, plain and simple! Just the hazard of living in a tropical area near the ocean. One solution: Move!! We don't get hurricanes in the mountains of Pennsylvania. LOL

I have studied weather for a long time and I have never seen anything like this develop in less than one day. This storm has the potential and more and likely will be bigger than Katrina. This could turn into the storm of the year, maybe even the century.

Holy Smokes... This thing absolutely exploded last night. Cat 4 Hurricane in just 12 hours. WOW!
