The latest hurricane model forecast have put potential Cuban landfall of Hurricane Paloma further east.  There is a strong trough across the U.S. that will push Paloma out to sea.  Before it gets to the Atlantic Ocean, Hurricane Paloma will skip across Cuba as a potentially category 3 major hurricane.  The water temperatures are sufficient for continued strengthening across the N.W. Caribbean Sea.  Once Hurricane Paloma gets into the Atlantic it will begin to gradually weaken and turn extratropical.
